3D Simulation Reuse

Develop a sample collection of 3D simulation components in the emergency response team domain, investigate potential extensions to the SCORM content model and run-time environment necessary to support a component-based approach to simulation and identify and build the necessary components required to construct a variety of emergency response team training scenarios.

Intelligent Tutoring System Capabilities Using SCORM Sequencing and Navigation

U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) - U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)

Leverage an existing Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) course on Bioenvironmental Engineering Advanced Measurement (BEAM), by converting it to SCORM 2004 to test the robustness of SCORM 2004 Sequencing and Navigation in supporting the level and types of branching capable in the current version of the ITS course.

 
Web-based Training Using Agents and Scenarios

US Army, Program Executive Office Command, Control, and Communications Tactical (PEO C3T) - Booz Allen Hamilton

Develop scenario-based, web-based training which incorporates the use of animated, intelligent agents to provide training to operational users of the GCCS-A C2PC.

 
Integration of HLA and SCORM

US Marine Corps Training and Education Command (TECOM) - MAK Technologies, Inc. - The MITRE Corporation

Develop an architecture for integrating the High Level Architecture (HLA) and SCORM such that web-based training on the Course of Action (COA) Wargaming lesson of the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP) can be effectively augmented with a practical exercise via the MAGTF-XXI tactical decision making, game engine-based, wargaming simulation.

 
Simulation-based Intelligent Training and Assessment

Intelligent Automation, Inc. (IAI)

Develop a prototype project in the Air Traffic Flow Control training domain, using an HLA-compliant discrete event simulation, that demonstrates an architecture for integrating the High Level Architecture (HLA) and SCORM. The system incorporates didactic instruction, performance demonstration, guided simulation, performance-based assessment and written assessment into a rich learning experience.

 
Integration of HLA and SCORM in a Multi-Student Context

Anteon Corporation - MAK Technologies, Inc. - mGen, Inc.

The HLA/SCORM prototype project provides the USMC Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS) Distance Education Program (DEP) student with a richer, more robust learning environment in which the SCORM conformant instruction is supported with active interaction within the HLA-compliant MAGTF-XXI simulation. Courseware modules were developed for use in a collaborative (multi-student) environment.
