About

The Korea ADL Partnership Laboratory (KAP), formed in 2007, is located in Seoul, Korea. The Korea ADL Partnership lab is sponsored by the Korea Institute for Electronic Commerce (KIEC) and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE). MKE supports developing national policies to promote e-Business. KIEC is designated as an e-Learning industry development support organization with responsibility for developing and promoting policies that boost competitiveness in the nation’s e-learning industry in accordance with the e-Learning Industry Development Act.

Mission

The KIEC’s mission includes facilitating international cooperation in promoting e-Learning standards. The Korea ADL Partnership Lab collaborates with ADL to promote SCORM as part of its effort to engage the domestic e-Learning industry in the adoption of open e-learning standards. KIEC’s main policy initiatives include policy studies, technology development, e-learning human resource development (HRD), and promotion of global standards to strengthen the e-Learning industry in both the public and private sectors.

The Korea ADL Partnership Lab also operates the Korea Testing Center that provides certification testing and awards the appropriate certification logo for SCORM products.

Sangil Lee

Sangil Lee, Director

Mr. Sangil Lee is the Director of the Knowledge Business division of the KIEC, and has directed the Korea ADL Partnership Lab since its establishment in 2007.  His division supports and promotes the e-learning industry through conducting policy research, technology development, e-learning HRD, and standardization. Mr. Lee coordinates and directs the activities of the Lab in collaboration with the ADL Initiative, and is responsible for promoting the development and acceptance of SCORM and related global e-learning technologies and standards in Korea.

Mr. Lee previously worked in the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MoTIE) and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MoCIE) to promote  and support industry. He has more than 15 years of experience working in the fields of e-commerce, innovative technologies, e-learning, and knowledge related industries.

Mr Lee received a B.A in Law from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
