United Kingdom ADL Partnership Lab
The United Kingdom Advanced Distributed Learning Partnership Laboratory (U.K. ADL Partnership Lab) formed in 2002, is located in Telford, England. It is a collaborative project between ADL and the Learning Lab at the University of Wolverhampton. The U.K. ADL Partnership Lab promotes global e-learning standards development and acceptance. The U.S. and U.K. collaborate on producing sharable content and joint research projects.
The Canada Advanced Distributed Learning Partnership Lab (Canada ADL Partnership Lab), formed in 2004, is located in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. It is housed at the Defence Learning Innovation Support Centre (DLISC). DLISC is a Canadian resource, with a mandate to support Individual Training and Education, and Professional Development activities for the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Forces. Through the ADL Partnership Lab Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), that mandate extends to include support to other Canadian Governmental Departments (OGDs), the Canadian e-learning industry, Canadian academia, and the international ADL Co-Lab network.
German Workforce ADL Partnership Lab
The German Workforce ADL Partnership Laboratory (German Workforce ADL Partnership Lab), formed in October 2009, is located in Ilmenau, Germany. It is housed at the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology within the Data Representations and Interfaces business area. The collaborative design lab has adopted ADL technologies and services that it uses to advance Human Resources Development— including Individual Learning and Training, Corporate and Life-Long–Learning Education, and Job Performance — within industry and throughout German society.
The Latin America ADL Partnership Laboratory (ILCE ADL Partnership Lab), formed in 2007, is located in Mexico City, Mexico. It is a collaborative project between ADL and the Instituto Latinoamericano de la Comunicación Educativa (ILCE) to encourage implementing cooperative projects geared toward developing education in Latin American and Caribbean countries.
The Korea ADL Partnership Laboratory (KAP), formed in 2007, is located in Seoul, Korea. The Korea ADL Partnership lab is sponsored by the Korea Institute for Electronic Commerce (KIEC) and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE). MKE supports developing national policies to promote e-Business. KIEC is designated as an e-Learning industry development support organization with responsibility for developing and promoting policies that boost competitiveness in the nation’s e-learning industry in accordance with the e-Learning Industry Development Act.
The Norway ADL Partnership Laboratory (Norway ADL Partnership Lab) formed in 2008, is located in Oslo, Norway. It is a collaborative project between ADL and the Norwegian Ministry of Defence. Its mission is to develop ADL capabilities in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Defense. Early projects will involve harmonizing the S1000D technical publication standard into the ADL strategy and initializing a Norwegian CORDRA™ (Content Object Repository Discovery and Registration/Resolution Architecture) implementation. The latter project will be patterned on the ADL-Registry, the U.S. DoD instance of CORDRA.
The Romania ADL Partnership Laboratory (Romania ADL Partnership Lab), formed in 2009, is located in Bucharest, Romania. It is sponsored by the “Carol I” National Defence University of the Ministry of National Defense of Romania, and the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation.
