 ADL Co-Lab Hub Introduction

The Advanced Distributed Learning Co-Laboratory (ADL Co-Lab Hub) in Alexandria, Virginia serves as the ADL Initiative’s central organization for guiding, coordinating, and integrating products of the ADL network into a unified ADL strategy. The ADL Co-Lab Hub operates under the direction of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (OUSD P&R).

ADL Open House a Big Success

The ADL Co-Lab Hub welcomed more than 50 friends and colleagues from industry, federal agencies, and the DoD at the ADL Open House and Launch Celebration in Alexandria, Va. on April 14th.

Mission

  • Provide a collaborative environment for harmonizing learning technology research, integration, and assessment into ADL.
    • Identify and evaluate open architecture tools and standards.
    • Identify and incorporate proven learning and performance aiding technologies and assess their relevance to the ADL strategy.
    • Develop and maintain compliance testing software.
    • Develop, test, and validate learning technologies and best practices to make content reusable and universally accessible through the ADL Registry.
    • Evaluate joint virtual learning environments and games applications.
    • Evaluate expert system-based (intelligent tutoring) tools.
    • Create and foster partnerships with industry and professional organizations.
  • Provide Help Desk support for all ADL activities.
