The Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative announced today plans to award $16,000 to Eduworks in Covallis, Oregon to perform research and development under the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) W91CRB-08-R-0073 Amendment 2, Topic 7. This is the first of several awards under this BAA.
The proposed effort includes the development of a prototype ADL Desktop Registrar that enables users to drag a file onto a desktop interface, edit automatically-generated metadata, and register the object in the ADL Registry. The prototype will be tested and optimized in the context of the USMC College of Continuing Education. Eduworks develops core technologies and applies them to solving e-learning problems.
The Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative (ADL) is partnering with the U.S. Army’s Research, Development, and Engineering Command, Simulation and Training Technology Center (RDECOM-STTC) in anticipation that current research, projects, and initiative can be leveraged for dual use in both organizations. The partnership will continue transforming distributed learning technologies to improve training quality and accessibility for the Department of Defense.
