Training & Learning Architecture

Although SCORM has been tremendously successful and adopted worldwide, ADL recognizes the need for a SCORM that matches today’s technological environment. This effort has begun primarily through the development of the Experience API (Tin Can API). Through Tin Can and future efforts, the TLA capability will include:

  • Prototypes of web services and learning experiences,
  • Open source code libraries, design models and specifications to enable continuous innovation in content,
  • Systems and networks that enable accelerated learning and human performance. Learn More…

Search & Retrieval

Learners and content developers need to be able to quickly and easily find existing learning content that meets their requirements. The search and retrieval capability at ADL focuses on technologies to enable the effective reuse of learning content. Learn More…

Emerging Technologies

The ADL Emerging Technologies Team currently explores the applications of games, virtual worlds and social media through various research initiatives, prototype projects and other projects with a variety of government partners. Learn More…

Mobile Learning

The ADL Mobile Learning Team’s vision is to be the definitive source of information in support of DoD mobile learning initiatives.
