Continuing the Fight: Helping the WoundediFest 2011 Presentation by Major General T.S. Jones - U.S. Forces have been at war for almost a decade, with the “heavy lifting” being done by junior leaders at the small-unit level. Much has been done relative to the development of innovative training practices, with technology helping to bring a greater degree of realism to the training environment. It is now imperative that equal intensity be oriented on the development of practices that help those who have sacrificed MUCH for our country, as they work toward recovery or transition into the civilian sector. Many service members have suffered life-altering injuries, while many others continue to struggle with combat stress injuries or illnesses. It is safe to say that combat cohesion is at levels not seen since WWII, as MANY individuals have undergone repeated combat deployments. Combat cohesion, therefore, can be leveraged for VERY positive results; however, if not leveraged, the loss of combat cohesion often leads to serious, negative consequences.Practices and tools that have prepared individuals and units for combat, likewise, offer means for recovery and transition; the imperative is OUR responsibility to tackle.

SCORM Users Guide for Instructional DesignersSCORM Users Guide for ProgrammersADL Cross Domain Scripting SolutionsIn the SCORM model, SCOs communicate with an LMS using ECMAScript via an LMS-provided API Instance. When a launched SCO and its LMS-provided API Instance are hosted on different domains, browser security restrictions prevent the ECMAScript API calls, thus prohibiting communication. Through collaboration with several members of the ADL Community and internal prototyping efforts, the ADL Technical Team has tested several different solutions to this problem and is providing them to the ADL Community at large. This paper details the Cross-Domain Issue and presents several known and tested solutions.
