Director, ADL Co-Laboratory Hub

ADL Role:
As the ADL Co-Laboratory (ADL Co-Lab) Hub Director, G A is responsible for developing and directing an open and collaborative
environment for sharing learning technology research, development, implementation and evaluations across public and private sector
domains. Responsibilities also include managing multiple support contracts on behalf of the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative.
G A also serves as the Senior Policy Advisor for the ADL Initiative and is the ADL Registry Registrar
(http://adl.adlregistry.gov/), and has been a Core Team Member
since the ADL Initiative’s inception.
Experience:
G A comes to the Hub from the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) as an Adjunct Research Staff Member. Prior to IDA, he served in
senior government public affairs, multimedia, and training systems management positions handling a broad range of strategic programs.
He has operated at the Office of the Secretary of Defense level in the diplomatic and international affairs arena developing public
affairs and military training policies applying his managerial and technical expertise to a wide range of programs, participating
in and contributing to all aspects of military and government education and training programs.
Currently, he represents OSD (Personnel & Readiness) on the Training Technology Development (TTD) Subcommittee of the Combating Terrorism
Technology Support Office’s (CTTSO) Technical Support Working Group (TSWG) - www.tswg.gov. G A is
Subject Matter Expert to the Department of Justice (DoJ) where he coordinated the www.dna.gov site as
an open source SCORM® conformant repository and content management system, for publishing online forensic science-related documents -
http://massfatality.dna.gov/ and http://samfe.dna.gov/ -
and training programs. He also assisted DHS’s Office of Grants and Training in developing materials posted at
www.firstrespondertraining.gov.
G A is also the senior editor, SME, and contributor in publishing DoD Instruction 1322.26 “Development, Management, and Delivery of Distributed
Learning.” June 16, 2006, and DoD Instruction 1322.20 “Development and Management of Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI),” currently under
revision, and other related documents.
Education:
G A received his B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Denver, a B.S. from Butler University in Radio and Television, and an M.S. in
Business Administration from Indiana State University.
