SCORM® Version 1.1

Released in January 2001, Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) Version 1.1 incorporated several changes from its predecessor. Corrections and improvements were based on feedback received from the SCORM Version 1.0 release.

Changing Sharable Courseware Object Reference Model to Sharable Content Object Reference Model is the most noticeable change. This was done to better show that SCORM applies to various levels of content. Aligning with this shift, Course Structure Format was also changed to Content Structure Format to show that collections of learning content smaller and larger than an entire course could be represented through SCORM.

Changes to SCORM resulting in Version 1.1 fall into three categories:

  1. Improved Documentation
  2. Functional Changes and Fixes
  3. Deprecations
