Competencies are a hot topic in the e-learning industry and competency frameworks are a key component to ADL’s Total Learning Architecture (TLA). The Competency and Skills System (CASS) project will create an infrastructure that enables competencies, competency frameworks, and competency-based learner models to be managed and accessed as persistent objects that exist independently of a learning management system, course, training program, or credential.

The three areas of focus for 2016 are:
  • Competency portability
  • Competency reporting
  • Resource alignment

Descriptions of CASS, project schedule, documentation, and information on how to get involved are located here.
