On Monday, August 15, more than 50 leaders from the Experience API (xAPI) and Caliper Learning Analytics Framework (Caliper) communities attended the IMS Global meeting at Utah Valley University. ADL Initiative and members from the xAPI community participated in the xAPI and Caliper Review as part of the quarterly IMS meeting. To read more about the outcome, check out the article IMS recently posted. The outcome of the first meeting resulted in a summary comparison of the two specs, available here.
ADL Initiative will continue this collaborative relationship with IMS by participating in the next xAPI and Caliper Review on Wednesday, November 9 at Arizona State University. This is a continuation of the first xAPI and Caliper Review and we will further explore the differences between the two specs. Anyone with experience in xAPI and/or Caliper are invited to join us.
If you can't join us for the in-person xAPI and Caliper Review, IMS is still collecting community perspectives and interest on the matter. Please help shape our collaboration efforts and increase our collective awareness moving forward. If you've already completed the IMS survey there's no need to complete it again.
This is important work, and can't be accomplished without harnessing the collective expertise and wisdom of both xAPI and Caliper communities. We look forward to you joining us for the next installment of the xAPI and Caliper Review!
