Adaptive Instructional Systems

Originally part of the US Army Research Laboratory’s Center for Adaptive Instructional Sciences, P2247.1 was re-established by IEEE in September 2018 with the new name Adaptive Instructional Systems. The purpose of the Adaptive Instructional Systems Working Group is to investigate the possible market need for standards across a group of technologies collectively known as Adaptive Instructional Systems (AIS). This working group seeks to bring together government, industry, and academia to advance adaptive instructional science and technology for application in training and educational systems through a collaborative, innovative research ecosystem. AIS include Intelligent Tutoring Systems and other related learning technologies. The output of the working group will be one or more PARs identifying needed standards activities.
